NAME: Brian Coonrod
HOMETOWN: Beaverton Oregon, USA
SCHOOL: Beaverton High School, Portland Community College, Art Institute of Seattle, WA
INTERNSHIP PERIOD: Fall 2002 - Spring 2003
ABOUT: I was born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii. In 1994, I moved with my family to Oregon. I have always been drawn to nature. In Hawaii, I would bike great distances to reach a river valley and explore on my own. Now on the West Coast, I spend every chance I can get in the great outdoors. I love to hike, trail blaze, camp, backpack, bike, ski, snowshoe, canoe, rock hounding and fishing. My greatest interest however, is Geology, especially in the field of Volcanology. I found a way to include both my passion for nature and geology into a profession with landscape photography. I am now nearing the end of an accredited photography program at the Art Institute of Seattle (AIS), where I will acquire an Associates of Art Degree. At AIS, I have learned to master the 4x5 large format camera and have an extensive knowledge in digital photography and retouching. I have also had the opportunity to hone my 35mm format camera skills. During my enrollment at AIS, I have accumulated and assembled a sizable portfolio of landscape photography. Upon graduation I hope to extend my area of travel to all corners of the world.
