NAME: Caleb Cordes
HOMETOWN: Portland, Oregon, USA
SCHOOL: Wisconsin Lutheran College, Milwaukee, WI
INTERNSHIP PERIOD: Summer 2004
ABOUT: I am Senior studying Art with an emphasis in Photography, and a minor in Theology. My love for the outdoors sparked my choice to become a photographer. My images are conceptual images, meaning that they can easily ascribe to emotions of love, hope, strength etc... I have extensive experience in both the darkroom and in digital editing with photography and graphic design. This summer along with my internship I am also working for Danita Delimont Stock Photography in Bellevue, WA. I love working for both companies. The people I get to work with are genuinely awesome and caring people. I am learning so much about photography as a business, it is incredible.
My plan for the future is to become a PR representative for my church's foreign mission outreach program. With my photography I want to create more than a, "this is where we send our offerings" affiliation between congregations, which is often the case in the US. My goal is to help create active friendships between individual foreign and home churches in the US.
The images below are from a contest for Popular Photography and American Photo Magazine that I participated in the summer of 2003, in Hawaii. Please enjoy them!

TITLE: Voyage to the Big Island
CAPTION: A friend of mine and I negotiated a free sunset tour of the coast of Maui with a zodiac touring company in Lahania for the last day. In turn for this trip my friend and I agreed to bring 12 more people with us. We got to swim with the native fish and these humongous sea turtles. The Island to the right of the sailboat is Hawaii, "the Big Island".
